Gratitude: A Visual Journal Virtual Workshop
Gratitude: A Visual Journal Virtual Workshop
This is now a self-paced workshop, and links to recorded videos will be emailed after purchase.
You’re invited to spend a few hours making, creating, and sharing from the comfort of your own home or studio. This will be a very informal gathering as I share a few ideas and techniques as we work in our journals. So set aside some time before the busy holiday season to join a community of other creative individuals for a low pressure experience as you reconnect to yourself, your journal, and your making.
This was originally a live class where we met through Zoom. It is now a self-paced workshop.
This is pay-what-you-can workshop, so please select what you would like to pay below. Once you pay, I will email you with links and a password to the archived videos, typically within 24 hrs of purchase. This will be a separate email that I send out personally, and it is different from the order confirmation that you will receive automatically after purchase. If you do not receive the email, please check your spam and junk folders, and make certain that you have added my email address to your address book to ensure that you receive future emails from me.
Supplies Needed:
A visual journal, sketchbook, or loose paper - A mixed media journal is a good choice since it has paper designed to withstand a wide variety of paints, but use whatever works for you. It does not need to be a new book. Or use a number of loose pieces of paper to make individual works of art.
Paint - Watercolor and acrylic will both work. I’ll be using watercolor paint and watercolor pencil
Mark making items - It’s always great to create interesting marks and textures with paint. I love using plastic mesh, bubble wrap, cardboard, string, and even my fingers to play with how I apply paint.
Variety of paint brushes
Scissors
Glue Stick - I like UHU, but if you’re using acrylic paint, acrylic medium is suitable
Markers, pens, and pencils - a variety of waterproof and water-soluble writing and drawing materials; paint markers are great to use
Papers - I like having a variety of loose papers to use in my journaling, and I always have tracing paper, drawing paper, and colored papers on hand.
Collage materials - We’ll be using an assortment of items to glue into the journal, but try to find things that are personal. I love using movie tickets, mementos from travel, post cards, bottle labels, and other ephemera that I accumulate in day-to-day life.
